Fikom Unpad’s #WeeklyTakeover with Egi

At this #WeeklyTakeover, Egi talked about his journey as an IISMA awardee at Korea University.

Egi Yana Supriyanto is a 2019 batch student majoring in Communication Sciences – PSDKU at Universitas Padjadjaran‘s Faculty of Communication Sciences.

Egi enrolled in four courses at Korea University (KU) which mainly focus on media and business since he is interested in both. The courses are Media Business and Management, Principles of Economics, Business for Society, and Mystery of Human Body. His lecture schedule only spans from Monday to Thursday. So, he can still hang out with his friends or go to study cafes on the weekends.

Language is one of many concerns before going to a non-English speaking country. So, Egi suggested that anyone who wants to study in Korea to be able to read Hangul (Korean Alphabets) first since nearly all places are covered in Hangul. The university is an exception though since he can freely use English when communicating with the professors and international friends.

Daily, Egi eats Korean foods like Topokki, Odeng, Bibimbap, Kimbab, and Korean-style chicken. But for those who want to eat Indonesian foods, don’t worry, Indonesian foods can easily be found in Itaewon, which is only about 30 minutes away from KU dormitory.

Egi also talked about the IISMA interview. He recommended those who’s about to take the interview to answer briefly by highlighting the important points. He emphasized that making clear and strong statements in each answer is the key.
